These qualifications are part of the AHA training package. Student Information

The course is delivered and accessed through online methods, consisting of webinars, learning notes, reference resources and assignments. The course is assessed through a competency-based approach, in which a combination of written assignments and practical evidence must be submitted. This in turn will build a portfolio of learning and prove competency.

Each subject provided through the AHA has a subject ‘tutor’ and a subject ‘assessor’. The subject’s tutor will deliver course materials, such as webinars and learning notes, and will be the students first point of contact regarding coursework and assignments. The subject’s assessor will undertake the final assessment of submitted materials and signoff that the student is competent.

Currently, there are 2 subjects that are provided by external institutions, F10 Regulation/legislation and F11 Health and Safety. These courses are currently delivered through an external provider, Simmonds & Bristow Pty Ltd. Students enrolled in these courses this semester will receive an email to provide information on the enrolment and delivery of these subjects.

The AHA is not a registered training organization and has engaged Timber Training Creswick (RTO ID 4168) as the registered training organization overseeing the delivery of the diploma. The subjects provided through the AHA have different names to that of the Unit of Competency Code. Subjects offered by the AHA meet or exceed the requirements of an equivalent Unit ofCompetency defined by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

Successful completion of study through AHA, delivered by Timber  Training Creswick, provides the qualification “NWP50118 - Diploma of Water Industry Operations (Hydrometric Operations)”. While undertaking the diploma, students are required to nominate a workplace supervisor who will support learning, provide guidance, both practical and theoretical, and signoff on submitted evidence, such as logbook entries, to verify the candidate’s competency.
