The Australian Hydrographers Association National Conference 2027 is heading to Fremantle, Western Australia.
Join the Australian hydrographic community from 30 August to 2 September 2027 for four days of professional development, technical exchange, industry demonstrations, networking and connection.
AHA 2027 will combine hands-on learning and field-based activities with a comprehensive conference program, providing opportunities to explore new technologies and approaches, share knowledge and connect with hydrographers, suppliers and industry colleagues from across Australia.

Conference Theme
Shifting Baselines: Hydrography at the Edge of Change
Hydrography operates in an environment that is constantly changing. Climate variability, evolving technology, changing landscapes and waterways, new data requirements and increasing expectations around how we measure, understand and manage water are reshaping the profession.
Shifting Baselines: Hydrography at the Edge of Change invites the hydrographic community to consider what change means for the way we work today and how we prepare for what comes next.
The conference will provide a forum to share practical experience, technical knowledge, emerging technologies and new approaches, while recognising the essential role of hydrographers and high-quality data in understanding our changing water environments.

Monday, 30 August 2027
Arrival, Expo Bump-in & Networking
The conference week begins with exhibitor and expo bump-in, delegate arrivals and an opportunity to settle into Fremantle.
The day will finish with casual networking drinks, providing an informal opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and meet other attendees ahead of the main program.
Tuesday, 31 August 2027
Professional Development Day & Welcome Reception
A practical and hands-on day designed to take learning beyond the conference room.
Activities are expected to include:
- Field activities and vendor demonstrations
- Site visits
- Professional development workshops
The day will conclude with the AHA 2027 Welcome Reception, bringing delegates, presenters and industry partners together to officially welcome everyone to the conference.
Wednesday, 1 September 2027
Conference Day & Conference Dinner
A full day of conference presentations, technical sessions, case studies and industry discussion exploring the issues, innovations and experiences shaping hydrography.
The day will conclude with the AHA 2027 Conference Dinner, one of the major social and networking events of the conference.
Thursday, 2 September 2027
Conference Day & Optional Social Activity
The conference program continues for a final half day of presentations and discussion.
An optional social activity is also being considered for Thursday afternoon, giving delegates the opportunity to extend their time together and experience more of Fremantle and Western Australia.
Program details are preliminary and subject to change.

Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges
AHA 2027 will be held at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, located in the heart of Fremantle and within walking distance of the waterfront, restaurants, bars and many of the city's attractions.
