The Senior Hydrographer is a vital position within the Science, Monitoring and Information Division, Resource Monitoring Unit, operating from Netley in Adelaide.  The Monitoring Group comprises a team of eighteen personnel reporting through the Team Leader to the Program Leader Monitoring Operations.

The Senior Hydrographer’s primary roles are monitoring of water resource networks, and minor asset maintenance of monitoring infrastructure throughout the State.

Under the day-to-day supervision of the Supervising Hydrographer, the incumbent’s role includes the use of and the maintenance of instruments and pumping equipment that records water level and salinity of the resource and undertaking resource surveys and data entry. In addition to this role the incumbent maybe involved in other data gathering tasks as directed.
